Emergency Care
At Annerley Dental we realize that toothache or broken teeth require priority treatment. We endeavour to see these patients on the same day, but please telephone us early so we can schedule you an appointment. We are open at 6 am.
White Fillings
White fillings have improved over the years and now they are very strong and bond to the tooth structure. The result is a very strong filing that matches the tooth in colour.
Digital X Rays
Digital X Rays require a lower radiation dosage than conventional X Rays. They are able to be manipulated on the computer for better analysis.
Crowns and Bridges
A crown refers to the restoration of teeth using materials that are fabricated by indirect methods which are cemented into place. A crown, or cap, is used to completely cover a tooth. A crown may be needed to restore a tooth for reasons including a significant loss of tooth structure, fractures, or after root canal treatment.
A bridge is a natural-looking tooth replacement which fills in the gaps caused by missing teeth.
Root Canal Treatments
Root canal treatment or endodontic therapy is a dental operation in which the pulp (nerve and blood vessels) is cleaned out, the space disinfected, and then filled.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of the mouth (teeth and gums), unlike traditional dentistry that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of oral diseases. People seek cosmetic dentistry for a variety of reasons. The truth is most people would like their teeth to be straighter, whiter, and pleasing to the eye when they smile. Many people, who feel that their smile is unattractive, will rarely smile or cover their mouth with their hand whenever they laugh. This could also influence negatively their self-esteem which can impact both personal and professional relationships. Others just want to look younger, and they want to hide the signs of aging on their teeth (such as yellowish color and worn tooth edges).
Extractions
A dental extraction (also referred to as exodontia) is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration.
Gum Treatments or Deep Cleanings
Deep cleaning, also called scaling and root planing, is a non-surgical treatment in which the causes of gum inflammation, dental plaque and calculus, are removed. This procedure helps to establish gums that are free of disease.
Teeth Whitening
Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in dentistry. Many people consider white teeth to be an attractive feature of a smile. Teeth can become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs, and tobacco.
Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the esthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. Porcelain veneers fabricated by a dental technician are bonded to the tooth. Patients are able to improve the shape, color, and overall esthetics of their teeth with veneers.
Dentures
A partial, or removable partial denture, provides replacement teeth for functional or esthetic reasons which is supported by the remaining teeth. A partial is taken in and out of the mouth.
A Full denture is a prosthetic device constructed to replace missing teeth which is typically supported by surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. A denture is taken in and out of the mouth.
