Services We Offer

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes we can help your child with their orthodontic needs. Not only do we examine your children’s teeth, but we’ll also look at how their jaw is functioning, as well as their breathing as these are all interrelated. If your child does need braces, we’ll come up with an appropriate treatment plan.

The American Association of Orthodontists and The Australian society of orthodontists recommends children get their first check-up at the first sign of an orthodontic problem, but no later than age seven.

The goal of early treatment is to create a better environment for permanent teeth so they come through into the correct positions rather than having to move the teeth into such positions after the teeth erupt.
We accept all health funds but Annerley Dental is a preferred provider for – BUPA, NIB and HCF.
The fees charged are determined by the health funds, however most set at a significant discount to normal fees. The rebate you receive is higher by going to a preferred provider, so your out of pocket is less.

We offer a range of clinical skin rejuvenation services for all. Whether your skin concern is wrinkles, acne, pigmentation (dark spots), dull or dry skin we can help you. We can also offer treatments for baldness. To learn more about our skin care services, you can have a FREE consultation to see if we can help.

Yes we do. CDBS covers basic dental services across a period of two calendar years, helping make dental care more accessible and affordable to eligible children aged 2 to 17. This means no out of pocket expenses for eligible families.
If you receive a Government Benefit such as Family Tax Benefit Part A or other eligible payments from the government your child may qualify for the CDBS. You can check if your child is eligible for CDBS by calling Medicare on 132011.

The practicing dentist at Annerley Dental is Dr Basil, an accomplished dentist with extensive experience in the industry. He values building relationships with his patients and you will always be treated by him at Annerley Dental.

If you have health insurance, your health fund will pay for a proportion of your dental treatment. Annerley Dental will waive the difference and you don’t have to pay the difference.

No. Waiting until all the permanent teeth have come in, or until facial growth is nearly complete, could make correction of some orthodontic problems more difficult. Some things cannot be accomplished once the face and jaw are no longer growing.

This refers to the skills of the dental practitioner you’re visiting and whether they can take a holistic view of dentistry. Dr Basil has completed numerous courses throughout his career, staying abreast of current technology, to attain specialised knowledge and skills to enhance services at Annerley Dental. This includes:
  • Orthodontics – fixed braces (metal or clear), Clear Aligners (similar to Invisalign).
  • Endodontic Therapy – Root canal treatment to save your tooth from being extracted.
  • Bone Grafting – following a tooth extraction, bone grafting is a surgical procedure that is performed, to help with the implementation of dental implants in order to increase the stability of the implant.
  • Placement of implants and the crowns that go on top of the implant.
  • The assessment of a child’s teeth, jaw size and position, tongue tie, and bite with the idea of treatment sooner than later, to improve facial appearance, airway flow and breathing, jaw position and growth.
  • The assessment of airways, breathing, snoring that are treated with a referral to specialist/s or oral appliances to improve sleep and longevity of life.
  • Muscle relaxant injections to cease teeth grinding, headaches & improve facial appearance.
  • Grinding splints to protect teeth from wearing away.
Orthodontic treatment will help your child bite and chew, and contribute to clear speech.
When teeth function properly, they tend to look nice. An attractive smile is a pleasant side effect of orthodontic treatment.

It can also have emotional benefits. Self-confidence and self-esteem may improve as orthodontic treatment brings teeth, lips and face into proportion. Straight teeth are also less prone to decay, gum disease and injury.
Ideally, you should be visiting your dentist every six months. This helps us identify any issues before they become too problematic.

Having regular dental visits is a great way to maintain good oral health. The risks of not keeping to a regular schedule are significant, unfortunately we see this far too often for our liking.
